Bowflex xtreme vs xtreme 2? okay, i want to get one of these, is the 5 excercises for the xtreme 2 worth the extra 500. i dont see much other difference, i think the on...

The line of machines look different than any other previous Bowflex machine built such as the Power Pro and line. I myself own a Power Pro and am more than satisfied with it, but always enjoy checking out other Bowflex . When I saw the line, all I could say was, “Wow.” The first and so far only model that I got to try out was the XLU base model which goes for $999. Well, I wondered how it would up compared to the Power Pro model, and also how effective it was itself. Here’s what I found.

-$999? What Do I Get?-

*When you compare the XLU to the which is also $999, you get two very different looking machines. The XLU first off uses a different kind of base which keeps you in a seated position rather than one that you can adjust with the Power Pro. However, what I really like about the XLU is the fact that it has a lat which is very effective in upper-body exercises. Also, there are multiple pulley positions which allow for varied work outs. All in all, the XLU allows for over 60 exercises to be very comfortably done. However, some people may not like the fact that you can only do exercises in a seated position, so that’s what may drive some to get the Power Pro over the . The XLU is also a fine piece of craftsmanship. It is very durable, and the Power Rods have a life-time warranty. When you get on this thing, it doesn’t feel cheap. You get what you pay for with Bowflex, and the XLU definitely has a lot to offer for $999.

-The Features-

*The XLU comes with a lot of features. It’s definitely not a bare-bones work-out machine. There’s enough versatility when it comes to doing the workouts, even when there is no movable bench. Here’s what the XLU comes with:

*210lbs of Power Rod resistance with upgradability

*Lat

*Upper and lower pulley squat station

*Polyurethane cushion

*X-shaped base

*7-year limited warranty

*Unlimited Power Rod warranty

*Owners manual

-The Exercises-

*The only major drawback that I find with the XLU is that it doesn’t have a movable bench or anything. All of the exercises must be done in a seated position. However, I personally do find the seated position to be more comfortable than doing work-outs laying down for example like you could with the Power Pro. Thankfully, the seat doesn’t limit the amount of exercises that you can do. You can do over 60 exercises with this machine. The lat is a great feature to have since you can do excellent exercises for your upper body and back with that. If you’re very serious about lifting, then the XLU can serve you very well. It gives you what the whole Bowflex line promises to give, excellent results from an excellent machine.

-So Much Machine! So Little Space!-

*One great thing about the entire Bowflex line is the fact that you get practically an entire gym in such a small amount of space. If you have an apartment or live somewhere where the space is limited, then the XLU is for you! It offers so much with the need for very little space.

-Good Looks… Good Performance-

*The XLU is one of the more handsome machines offered from Bowflex. By just looking at it, the XLU is definitely more appealing than the more basic looking . The is very comfortable to work on. It’s easy to sit yourself down in the seat, make all the adjustments, and then do the exercise that you want to do. There are no problems with that, it’s a machine that’s very easy to get the hang of using. The comfort is spectacular, whether you use it for 20 minutes or for a few hours, you won’t feel uncomfortable when using the Bowflex.

-The Verdict-

*The XLU is yet another great innovation from Bowflex. They really know how to make great quality . The XLU has so many features to offer, and it’s definitely not as expensive as you may think it is. It does cost the same price as the which is a different machine, so choose very wisely, but you will not regret getting this high-quality piece of gym equipment.
