For anyone who is looking for a machine that will help them achieve their physical goals, the Bowflex Ultimate 2 is the way to go. I can’t add much to the quality of the machine more than those before me (Thanks guys for all the info, you are all awesome- your opinions were very helpful).

I am writing this to help you get the best deal first and foremost. But let me first tell you why I bought this machine: I am 34 years old man and I’ve been in or around Gyms since I was 12 years old and some international bodybuilder superstars have trained me and I can tell you this machine is a Gym quality machine. Indeed, it’s many machines in one machine!

Unforunately, I stopped exercising all together for the last five years. So here I am from beauty to the beast! I also live in NYC and Gyms are everywhere but the Gym’s environment especially here is not helpful. There are lots of distractions, and crowdedness that comes with a hefty bill. Not the best thing to concentrate on your workout, achieve results, save time or money.

So I decided to buy a bike to do my cardio in Central park as well as running. The hard part was which machine I choose to replace all these Gym-quality machines I used to enjoy in the Gym with one machine to setup in my STUDIO apartment. The space I could salvage was 8 by 12 feet including a space to my new bike. I spent sometime searching the Internet including here. I also asked friends and professionals. As usual, they have different opinions but those who tried one machine (the Bowflex); all agreed: it’s a VERY GOOD QUALITY all-in-one machine.

So, as my habit, I spent sometime researching the company that makes this machine to see how good they are and where I can get this incredible machine at affordable price. It paid off! If I went out and got the first offer; I would be paying 40% extra than I paid!

Here’s the deal:

You first have to decide what to buy, check the prices on Bowflex.com and then decide which way to go. You have two ways: EBay or Bowflex.com

1. Bowflex.com always has a sale or promotion. You can call them and negotiate. They’re happy to bring the price down for the right sale. Just tell them you will buy now and you will add some accessories. Buying from Bowflex also will get you the full warranty unlike EBay.

2. EBay sellers are many and their prices differ greatly. Go to “eBay express” and contact the sellers that offer their contact information. Ask them to quote you the exact things that you decided to buy and go with the overall best offer.

It took me 2 hours to do all that and it saved me $1500. I don’t know about you but unless your hour worth $750, then I guess you can pass my opinion.

I bought the followings:

1. The U2 with 410 pounds.

2. All the attachments (7) including the AB crunch.

3. The Bowflex mat (It’s not only for the look but will save your floor)

4. The accessory rack (You must get the rack- it’s a great space saving)

5. The Bowflex I-trainer (They just through it away as a thank you note and it was nice to have it)

6. I also bought the new Bowflex SelectTech 552 Dumbbells with the stand.

The dumbbells are just a marvelous piece of equipment. This is the thing when you see it for the first time, you just think to yourself: Hell! Why nobody thought of this before! As all of you know guys, dumbbells are very important in any workout. They will take your workout to excellence.

Back to the price: Bowflex offered me 20% discount and free shipping. The price tag was $4150 including taxes and shipping to NYC, NY. Their reduced price was only $3000 for all this directly from Bowflex! The best deal I got from EBay was even better: $2500 for all the same equipments.

Make sure to ask the eBay seller to offer the same kind of new and unopened boxes similar to the one you can get from the Bowflex site or decline their offer. Also check their reputation. If you’re hesitant to deal with someone, don’t. And if you want the warranty, you must go with Bowflex directly. No one I know of offers the same warranty Bowflex offers. They may replace some missing or broken parts upon delivery but that’s it.

So you can save $500 if you give up the warranty. The machines are very good and built to last long time but depend on your risk tolerance, go for whatever offer you choose. I got my machines missing nothing and in perfect condition.

Remember, you may buy the same equipments that I bought or something else. So to have a guide: check the price from Bowflex without any discounts, add taxes and shipping and this is your highest price. You should get at least 25% discount if not 30% from your total highest price from Bowflex. And you should get at least 35% discount if not 40% from your total highest price from EBay. I got 39.7% from my original highest price of $4150 and paid only $2500 including everything in perfect condition delivered to my door in five days. 13 boxes in all.

So, this brand new equipment (as advertised on the official site) total cost to me was: $1620 instead of bowflex.com original price of $2700 ($2300 + $200 shipping + $200 NY Taxes).

In those five days waiting for the machine to arrive, I still thought to myself that’s a lot to pay, right? When I finished assembling the stuff, and started my first workout, I knew I did the right thing. These machines worth every penny I paid for. I still believe this today after three months of working-out almost daily on them. The results are real. If you have a good plan, eat well and use the machine. You will have an incredible body. The Bowflex surely did this to me. The time I saved going to the Gym as well as the convenience of exercising at home is a great motivator to stay on course, add the money savings on the long run and I got my money back. It was the best investment I did because it was investment in myself.

PS. Although bowflex.com offers finance, their bank charges interest rate the day you get it. I bought the machines using a new credit card that I applied for with 12 months 0%. It was definitely a smart move I wanted to share with those of you who have good credit history and score.

PSS. I assembled the machines myself although two people are better for extra cautions or if you don’t like assembling things as much as I do. Make sure your ceiling is higher than 88 inches and read or watch all the manuals and instructions during the assembly and before starting your first workout. Good luck!
