We bought the Treadclimber TC5000 after several other pieces of equipment, including a treadmill; a rowing machine; a total gym; an ab lounger; and lastly a Gazelle Freestyle. These soon became lawn sale items, eBay and/or laundry hangars. We are both late 40’s (one of us later than the other); upper management with little time for anything, and even less ambition,so the promise of a good work out in only 30 mins 3 times a week sounded good. A bit too good.

The machine arrived in three very heavy boxes and was a work out to assemble. Not because it was hard- but because I am impatient and not terribly handy. After using it twice, my first impressions are thus:

1.It is well made- like a tank. Do not plan to move it about- unless you are in very good shape. Then, you would not need the machine in the first place. Still, it is a quality piece- and it should be for $2500.00!

2.It is easy to use. Just turn it on, punch in a few numbers (weight, level), attach the heart strap (you need to use something to wet your skin first so it makes contact) and you are off

3.It takes up little floor space and fits anywhere.

Recommendations: Buy the TC5000 or above if you can- better warrantee. Also, have a PC or a TV so you can watch a movie or a show. Walking up an endless hill is not as exciting as it sounds- or maybe it is- but the time will go by faster.

I will have to update in a month or so, but as of now, I am quite impressed.
