I’m not one to copy the owners manual or instructional DVD in my reviews so I’ll skip all that. I just want to help out with those people who are considering these things. For those of you who are considering these things and also, someone who will use what they buy, get them. It will not be long before you get your monies worth out of them. I received mine for Christmas which means I’ve completed about 6 or 7 workouts with these things. I also have a bowflex ultra (or something like that). I’m eventually going to create a workout that uses both things. I just didn’t expect to like these things as much as do. I thought they were going to be lighter than they claim but they’re not. I thought the adjusting dial would feel a little cheap, but I was wrong. I also thought that the plates would be a little wobbly or feel a little loose, well, I was right about that one. Not so much though. It kinda feels like a dumbbell bar with plates added on. You really never can tighten that thing down hard enough to keep everything tight. I still feel confident that the plates will not fall off as I’m holding the weight over my face. The handles are great. They do not feel cheap at all. Comfortable feel to it. The weights are proportional. When your on your back or sitting up and you have your arms extended, it doesn’t feel like the weights want to go to one side or the other. I didn’t buy the stand or the bench. The stand looks cool if you have the room for it. The same for the bench. You maybe able to find a bench cheaper somewhere else?? I already have a similar bench that I don’t have room for in my house so I didn’t get it. The weights are fine on the ground for me. But putting the weights back in their right spot maybe a little easier if you had the stands?? You have to put them in an exact spot on their little holders. Otherwise you can’t adjust the weight. The weights you leave in the holder can also fall out of place. All you have to do is put them back the right way. If you don’t, the adjusting nob will not turn. All simple stuff.
The workouts are great. There really is no difference from the full set of dumbbells you find at the gym. It goes from 5 - 52.5. And the 52.5 feels like 52.5 lbs! My wife even likes the 5’s. She’s pregnant so the light weight is perfect for her. She only feels it in her arms after multiple reps. You receive a manual that goes over the weights, workouts and even diets. You can do no other workouts with these things that you can do with regular ole dumbbells. So really, there’s not much else to say about these things other than get them if you’re considering them. Even if you don’t workout all the time. As long as you’ll get back to them everynow and then, it’s worth it b/c it hardly takes up any space. Also, get a yoga ball. Keeping your balance on one of those things while doing military press feels great for your abs and the love handle area. The same goes for when you’re laying on your back. That’s why I got these things, to be able to workout while keeping my balance. My menshealth magazine is always giving me workouts using dumbbells and those yoga balls preaching about balance and it helps your midsection. You can also take these things with you if you would like. Easy to throw in the trunk of a car. Anyway, hope this helps. I have no regrets about buying them. The only way you will is if you buy them and never use them.
