A reviewer mentioned that the top weight may not be enough for some. I find the opposite: Dumbbells are much harder to lift -per pound- than barbells, and these will probably be all you need for life. (Go to an exercise shop and pick up the 50lb bell.) The bells adjust from five pounds to fifty in 2.5lb increments. On these terms, they replace a lot of regular bells, but are they -your- terms? In my case, for instance, I don’t use less than twenty pounds, nor more than forty. (This may not seem like much of a range, but it is with dumbbells.) In five pound increments, this is five sets of bells, (and for the most part ten pound increments is enough, making it only three sets.) Either way, it’s not really a big mess of bells being replaced, and it’s a -lot- less expensive. Those of you who do aerobic movements with lighter bells will not need the heavier settings, lifters won’t need the lighter ones, and two people using them can’t work out together.

So..who are you? Although they’re well-designed, it’s still easier to pick up another bell than to twist and turn to another setting.
