Being a workout enthusiast for many years and having worked out on many different types of gym equipment, I have to rate the Bowflex as one of the best home gyms ever.

When compared to free weights the difference is very marginal. I purchased the Bowflex XTLU.

I later added in an extra 100 pounds and the special chest attachment. More on that later.

I got and still get an incredible pump when I work out with the Bowflex. People have noticed the difference.

I do have a problem with a few of the exercises. Getting into the squatting position requires you to put excessive strain on your lower back and if you decide to do leg presses, I don’t feel a good enough pump in my thighs. But beyond that the Machine is excellent.

I also found the Bowflex to be a little pricey. Even though I got mine for $1467.00. That’s a $300.00 discount from the normal price. They happened to be running a Christmas special. I have gotten several friends to buy the bowflex on my recommendation and they absolutely love it.

They were able to get $200.00 off by doing a little bargaining.

You will need an extra 100 pounds, but I feel the chest attachment is a decent add-on but not required and not worth the extra $100.00.

I did have one problem with a little rip in the incline back support, but I called Bowflex and with little explanation they shipped me a new one in three days. Awesome.

I also got my Bowflex shipped to me sooner then expected.
