Ab-roller, Ab-cruncher, stair-stepper, treadmills, ….you name the exercise equipment that has an infomercial and we’ve bought it! We’ve had our Bowflex Power Pro for over a year and I can honestly say it’s the only exercise equipment I’ve ever used consistently. The other equipment has fallen by the wayside, been donated to garage sales, or serves as an additional rack for hanging my husband’s clothes upon….But KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF MY BOWFLEX! I love this machine!

It was watching the 20 minute infomercial that convinced me to pop for the $1100 as a Christmas present for both my husband (and me) a year ago this past Christmas. This product is all it claims to be - it is truly a self-contained gym and there are exercises for all areas of your body. I especially love the leg exercises - and the fact that it serves to help you work out both for strength training and aerobics, since one of the exercises you can do is a rowing machine.
Because of the variety of exercises you can do, it’s kind of fun and time goes by quickly. It’s not too hard to get in 20-30 min. at least 3 times a week. I often use my Bowflex 5 times a week or more. Since I have had seven babies, I needed a work-out that I could do at home to get back in shape. I also needed something that would not strain my back, which is weak due to a prior back surgery. The Bowflex series of exercises are so varied that you can pick and choose which ones work best for you.
It’s pretty big, so make sure you have space to set it up before ordering! We leave it in our bedroom and that way I see it every night - staring silently at me, sometimes glaring at me…reminding me of the importance of regular exercise!
It’s a bit pricey, but since I will not have to be paying for a gym membership or (hopefully) won’t have to buy every new exercise gadget that comes out on the market, I guess it’s worth it. I recommend putting it on a low interest credit card and paying it off yourself over a year or so instead of letting Bowflex finance it for you.
One final negative aspect of it: it doesn’t produce results if you don’t USE it! Just ask my husband…he’s never used it once, but complains on a regular basis that he just can’t seem to tone up and get in shape. But at least he doesn’t hang his clothes on it, so I guess I shouldn’t complain too much!
