I needed to replace my original Bowflex and spied this Elite at a Santa Rosa Ca. CostCo. Compared to my original, this one looked much easier to use. In fact, three walked of the premises while I was shopping. I wonder if the proximity to January 1 was the reason. (grin)

In the checkout line I spoke to a customer who was buying one. I told him there would be an exercise plan inside and to follow it. I explained that I had and had lost 30 pounds in six months by repeating the 6-week plan over and… Well over again.

Well the time came and I got the Elite from CostCo (Huntsville, AL). I assembled it by myself in about three hours. My two dogs insisted on helping, which added to the assembly time. I am in the third week of my fourth 6-week plan, now using this Elite. The machine is a lot of bang for the buck. The exercises are similar to the original, but now I have enough weight (410) to at least challenge me for a leg press.

I do have to take exception to BowFlex’s contention about power rod not declining in resistance. The old machine felt worn out (5 years - used every other day) and this new Elite has that stiffness and resistance I recalled from the first one when it was new.

Overall - if you are looking for a good solution and a proven workout plan, you can’t go wrong with the Elite System. I never fold mine and I enjoy how quick I can move from exercise to exercise, with or without dog assistance.
