Bowflex Tips

I’ve only just received my Bowflex a few days ago, after what seemed like an eternity of waiting. It took the whole 4 weeks to get it. You would think as much as they advertise these machines on TV it would ship the next day. But anyway, back to the topic, like I said I’ve only had it a few days, but if your looking for the best so far so good, great resistance, solid built piece of equipment, the only problem I have so far is I got two fasteners that had cross threaded bolts. Which Bowflex gladly replaced.

The Bowflex TreadClimbers look wonderful. Bowflex makes three models of TreadClimbers. I have reviewed the TC1000. I am now reviewing the next step up, the TC3000. Stay tuned for the top of the line TreadClimber and then my comparison of them. Because of the nature of these reviews there will be some duplication and overlapping.

What is a TreadClimber?

I am 45 years old and bought the Bowflex Xtreme 2 six weeks ago, after my gym membership had expired (and hadn’t been going to the gym for a few months. I bought the machine at a local fitness equipment dealer for $1,300.

I spent about 3-4 hours assembling the Bowflex - but did take a lot of breaks. It was fairly easy to assemble and I had no problem with the cables even doing it by myself.

I asked for these for my birthday, and I am incredibly happy that I did. I don’t have space at home for a full dumbell set, and I hate messing around with a bunch of plate changing. This product fits my needs perfectly.

I like to do 15-20 rep sets with no more than 1 minute rests in between, sometimes only 30 seconds. Doing sets like this requires the weight to drop slightly for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th sets. Dialing in the weight with the SelectTech is fast and easy, freeing me up to stretch for 30 seconds in between sets instead of having to mess with changing weight plates. I just dial in the weight for the next set and I’m ready to go.

Ab-roller, Ab-cruncher, stair-stepper, treadmills, ….you name the exercise equipment that has an infomercial and we’ve bought it! We’ve had our Bowflex Power Pro for over a year and I can honestly say it’s the only exercise equipment I’ve ever used consistently. The other equipment has fallen by the wayside, been donated to garage sales, or serves as an additional rack for hanging my husband’s clothes upon….But KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF MY BOWFLEX! I love this machine!

I have had my Bowflex for about 5 weeks now and I must say that I could not be happier with my purchase. I had always been intrigued when I watched the infomercials on TV, but I was skeptical about how well the machine would really perform. I have a very busy schedule and going to the gym was not something I wanted to do, my days were long enough as they were. I have been reading reviews for a long time now and one thing I noticed is that there were a lot of people using their Bowflex years after they purchased it and about 99% of the reviews were positive.

BACKGROUND HISTORY

I’ve been working out nearly half my life. I was a collegiate All-American swimmer, began bodybuilding after college in very serious gyms, and then designed and bought a complete free weight home gym years later for home. We just moved into a new home and with two small children and a lakefront lifestyle, my wife and I decided to sell our home gym to our home buyers because we don’t have the time or energy to workout for 2+ hours anymore and thus couldn’t justify owning such a home based gym. Additionally, our new home doesn’t have a basement and I didn’t want a our new system taking up alot of space in true living areas. Thus, my search for a space-saving, but still multi-use exercise equipment set-up began.

To the person who requested that I review the Bowflex Motivator 2 I am sorry that it has taken me so long. But here it is! There are many models of Bowflex machines out there. I’ve been working out for over 25 years and am a Personal Trainer. I am spending considerable time using these various models. I was curious about the Motivator 2. I wondered how it differed from the many other models. I learned that although Bowflex makes the Motivator 2 they do not sell it. QVC is one store that has the rights to the machine. It is also sold elsewhere but not by Bowflex! (It is very confusing but the bottom line is that Bowflex has essentially sold the Motivator 2 to others.)

I have had my Bowflex Sport for just shy of 3 months now and it has been great. Prior to owning the Bow flex, I only worked out every once in a while with a set of free weights I have. I finally felt like I wanted to get into a serious workout routine because I wanted to gain some more strength and add some bulk to my body. I spent about 2 weeks looking at all the information I could find about all the Bowflex models and I also looked at the Weider Crossbar or whatever it is called. I was leaning heavily towards the Crossbar, mainly because it was much less expensive, until I found that there have been numerous problems with it and that many people had to have parts replaced and had long down times. That basically ended that right there, the Bowflex was what I wanted. Since I didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg just to be able to workout, I looked at the least expensive Bowflex models. I found that the Sport model had everything that I needed, because I wanted to have the lat tower and I liked that you can do rowing on it also. Done and done, I found an online store that had it for $800 right to my door.

It has been about 15 months since I started exercising on a Bowflex, and I have seen results. Do I look like the people in the commercials? Not yet. Have I lost any weight? Not really. Am I stronger than I was when I started? Yes I am.
